I set the pandora station to a favorite of mine and off to work I went. As one who appreciates tidy and clean spaces the finished environment which awaited our dear friends was a space I would have happily stayed in myself.

Today is day 36/40. It felt good to be able to share “a day ahead” when I started “this now 40,” there was breath around being able to write because I was a day ahead. The last few days, even while still sharing the back-story to catch you up I am writing in the middle of full-on-feelings.

We didn’t tell the children about a new dog coming to join us until an evening when we knew it would be welcomed good news. That evening came and as their earthly parents Ryan and I were excited to see a little sparkle in their eyes, hear a lift in their voices and feel the love from fresh hope filling their heart.

Goodness, how would you define it? Really? Before reading on, give yourself a minute or three and let yourself smile at the first few thoughts you have as you dream about or ponder past goodness. I’m trusting this pause is a gift for you, a bright moment in your day.

Goodness! Jesus has given such indescribable goodness to me (I would love to say to “us” but each heart within our flock has their own words to put to their own journey so please hear me as “I and me” and know it can also be “you and them” <3)

As I had mentioned yesterday these set-apart times have me knowing His invitation is worth it, my willingness is there, He knows this, which is why He’s offering it to me. I can completely trust Him but golly-gee I do not do this flawlessly. Flawlessness isn’t my goal, or His, just sayin’...

These thoughts were penned in March of 2017 in response to having been provided with a much needed and unsolicited gift in a very hard-pressed time. This gift was meant for and indeed was used to continue developing confidence in Him — my God.
