The Sliver

The Sliver

Once upon a time there was a young and innocent blonde-haired, brown-eyed girl who had the gentlest of curls which rested lightly upon her shoulders. Her days held laughter and adventure as she ran through the nearby open fields. She freely leapt to-and-fro through patches of white-tipped open blooms. Often she was with her friend, sometimes with her brother or sister, but always outside. Having been sun-kissed all day, come the end, she had gained a few more freckles.

Are there any avid runners out there? Maybe those of you who are pounding a little extra pavement in this quarantine time? How about any fair-weather joggers? You are coming into your season! Or “oh-my-gosh, I’ve got to do somethin’” folks who are just needing to move their feet to help themselves embrace the truth of knowing they are still headed somewhere in these stay-at-home days?

How often have you been invited to attend a gathering which you then attend, and actually aren’t welcomed? Why does this happen? Gosh, we shouldn’t be surprised if this is how we always feel because the definition of invite is quite simple and doesn’t hold within it any emotion.

It’s Friday, yeah!!! In some hearts however, it’s Friday (sigh)…

I am aware of so many hard-pressed scenarios right now for those I know, who know… Jesus is holding them close. And yet, with timid truth, they are tempted to say “This is all just too much. Why aren’t the necessary miracles being given to lighten this load, where are you Jesus?”

Good Morning dear one, yes you, the one who is fully seen and known by God Almighty. He loves you and cares for you to know Him. Do you know Him and the sweet and strong making words He uses to lead and guide you, make and mold you? Remember, I am here as an old friend or maybe to be a new friend, willing to hear and encourage you along in your journey to Jesus <3 Our flock would be honored to serve you as a saint of His in whatever simple or out-of-this-world way you’d dare to ask. Just sayin’

Good Morning! While yesterdays post was more about the light of Jesus and the promised hope and peace He gives as we let Him be our light, today holds an extra gift, that of the light from the sun <3 Anyone else realllllly appreciate the gift of sunlight? I am hoping by sharing our breakfast table discussion this morning your day too will have all sorts of “lightness” in it but first I’ll shine some light from my time of seeking Jesus through His word and song even earlier this morning.

My eyes first see…

Work at living in peace with everyone… Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Hebrews 12:14a, 15
