Two evenings later, that Friday night, October 27th, Ryan was contacted by an old colleague via text, this colleague had thought of Ryan for an open position which he had just heard about. Funny…Ryan’s friend had NO idea the posture we were in, the waiting, the unknown! He did not know Ryan had already communicated to his current employer that he would be leaving the public accounting world and would be looking for a new full-time position, he thought not until Spring of 2018.
Ryan was aware of the gentlemen that was going to be hiring… didn’t know him well, but knew of the business etc. So Saturday, October 26th, amidst the craaaazy of our family, and our keeping and caring for four extra kiddos for the remainder of the weekend, Ryan received a phone call from the gentlemen who is looking to hire. They planned a meeting for early Monday morning, October 30th.
While in the waiting of the weekend Ryan wasn’t sure what to think. In the past, certain “green lights” would shine, brightly even, BUT… the road, even when following what seems best and right, would inevitably be more difficult, more straining, more challenging, more perplexing. Ryan anticipated not being available to “work” full-time elsewhere for many months, however, we decided, more information is always good. The meeting was going to happen. Let’s see what it brings.
At the end of the meeting, there was a full-time job offer presented. This offer was presented with a bow on-top too. This new, potential employer understood, and respected Ryan had certain commitments concerning his current job and Spring-time tax stuff which he needed to honor, and even so… the position was offered to Ryan.
Insert angst, elation, angst, elation… oye! With acceptance of this offer, there would come another honest, hard, and humbling announcement to his current employer. We were not prepared for this, an amazing opportunity, without our “trying.” In our first letter we trusted God’s leading in Ryan’s declaration that His goodness would be outside of our trying, fretting, stressing, struggling, and striving. We knew that in His way, something would come, but did we really believe it would!?!
Well, it was our turn to believe. Maybe now yours too?
